We're a community orchestra, committed to presenting exciting music and showcasing the talents of Jersey, UK and international musicians. We're dedicated to supporting young musicians and the local community.

The JSO believe that we have an obligation to engage with young musicians in Jersey in a variety of ways. We encourage local music students to attend our concerts by offering them special discounted tickets as part of our ongoing commitment to music education on the Island.

 

Our principal reasons for bringing highly skilled visiting instrumentalists to the orchestra are, of course, to augment our playing forces and to ensure that our concerts are of the highest possible standard.  There is also, however, a fantastic opportunity for local instrumentalists to benefit from the ability and experience of these professionally trained players.

 

We hope that, through our programme of masterclasses and participation activities, we can provide local young instrumentalists not just technical expertise but the inspiration which will carry them forward in their musical lives.
